By creating an account or using DuetStudio, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
DuetStudio is a studio management platform for private music teachers. It provides tools for scheduling lessons, managing lesson notes, tracking student practice, managing assignments, invoicing, and a student portal. The core platform is free with unlimited students. Paid plans (Pro and Organization) add features such as online payment collection, automatic invoicing, and multi-teacher studio management. See our pricing page for current details.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring that student and parent information you enter is accurate and collected with appropriate consent
- Complying with applicable laws regarding the collection and use of student data
4. Billing & Subscriptions
The core platform is free with unlimited students. Paid plans (Pro and Organization) add features such as online payment collection, automatic invoicing, music library storage, and multi-teacher studio management, and are billed as recurring subscriptions through Stripe. You will never be charged without explicitly opting into a paid plan, and you can cancel at any time from Settings; access continues until the end of your current billing period. DuetStudio does not take any fee from the lesson payments families send you through Stripe; you pay only Stripe's standard processing fee on those transactions.
5. Data & Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. We collect only the data necessary to provide the service. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use DuetStudio for any unlawful purpose, to harass or harm others, or to transmit any content that violates applicable laws. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Limitation of Liability
DuetStudio is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
