Getting started

Create your account

Sign up with your email. You'll be asked for your name, studio name, and instrument(s) you teach. Takes about 2 minutes.

Add your first student

From the dashboard, click "Add Student." Enter their name, instrument, and contact info. You can add a parent/guardian email for younger students.

Schedule a lesson

Go to Calendar and click on a time slot, or use the "New Lesson" button. Set the student, date, time, duration, and whether it repeats.

Set up invoicing

Go to a student's profile and create an invoice. Set the amount, due date, and send it by email. To accept online payments, connect your Stripe account in Settings.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. All core features are free with no time limit. If you accept online payments through Stripe, there's a small platform fee on each transaction in addition to Stripe's standard processing fee. You can always add your Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App handle to invoices instead.
Each student can get their own portal. You enable it from their profile, and they receive a magic link by email. No passwords to remember. They can view upcoming lessons, assignments, practice logs, and shared notes.
Yes. When you add a parent/guardian email to a student's profile, lesson summaries, assignments, and reminders are sent to that email. Parents can also access the student portal using the same magic link.
Connect your Stripe account in Settings. When you send an invoice, students receive a "Pay Now" button in the email. Stripe handles the payment processing. There's a small DuetStudio platform fee on each transaction on top of Stripe's standard rate.
Yes. In your settings, you can add your Venmo handle, Zelle info, or Cash App tag. These show up on your invoices so students can pay you directly. There's no DuetStudio fee on manual payments.
DuetStudio automatically sends email reminders the morning of each lesson. Students (and parents, if a guardian email is on file) get a reminder with the lesson time and any relevant details.
Yes. DuetStudio uses row-level security, encrypted connections, and does not share your data with third parties. Your student information is only accessible to you.

DuetStudio is a web app that works on any device. There's no native app yet, but the interface is fully responsive and works well on phones and tablets.
