About DuetStudio

The story behind it.

Why DuetStudio exists, who built it, and why it’s free to start.

The mission

Built for the teachers who do it all.

Private music teachers juggle everything. Scheduling, billing, parent communication, lesson planning, tracking what every student is working on. Most end up stitching together a mess of spreadsheets, text threads, calendar apps, and Venmo requests.

DuetStudio puts all of that in one place. Scheduling, lesson notes, practice assignments, invoicing, and a student portal. Free for every teacher.

Whether you teach five students between classes or run a full studio, DuetStudio gives you the tools to stay organized, look professional, and focus on what you actually care about: teaching.

Why it’s free to start

Because the teachers who need this the most are the ones just getting started.

If you’re teaching five students out of your apartment between classes, you shouldn’t have to pay for software just to stay organized. So the core of DuetStudio — scheduling, lesson notes, assignments, the student portal, manual invoicing — is free forever.

As your studio grows, Pro adds the scale and professional polish of running it as a business: online card payments, automatic invoicing, your own branding, a public booking page. And when you bring other teachers on, Organization gives you the roster, billing, and reporting to run a whole studio.

You pay for growth, never for the basics. The tools you need to get organized stay free.

Who built this

A musician and a developer with too many lesson notebooks.

DuetStudio was built by a musician and software developer who spent years in the private lesson world as a student, a teacher, and a performer. The goal was simple: build the tool that should have existed all along.

No VC funding. No growth hacking. Just a useful product for music teachers.

Your studio, organized.

Free for every teacher. Set up takes less than 5 minutes.
