Teachers who are not on DuetStudio (Pro)

On Pro, you can add a teacher who does not have a DuetStudio account, by name only. They cannot sign in, but you can assign them students and lessons, their name shows across the studio, and they can get their lesson reminders by email. When they are ready, invite them, and everything assigned to them moves to their new account.

Steps

1. Open Settings, then Team. Under Not on DuetStudio, choose Add a teacher.
2. Enter their name. Email, phone and instruments are optional.
3. To send them reminders, add their email and turn on Email them their lesson reminders. You can add A note to include at the bottom of each one. Then choose Add teacher.
4. Assign them students like any other teacher: in Assigned teacher when you add a student, or in the Teacher column on Students. The student's upcoming lessons move to them too.
5. They cannot sign in, so you or an admin take attendance and write notes for their lessons.
6. When they want an account, choose Invite to DuetStudio on their row. When they accept, their students and lessons move to their account.

Good to know

• Reminders go out once a day, at the same time as your own lesson reminder email. Each one has the lesson times, the studio address if you have set one, and the student's first name. Family contact details are never included.
• Each reminder has a link to stop the emails and one to join DuetStudio, so they can ask for an invite themselves.
• If they accept with a different email address, the invite waits in Team until the owner chooses Approve.
• Removing them keeps their students and upcoming lessons as they are. Work to reassign on your dashboard lists them until you give them to someone else.
