Import students from a spreadsheet

If your students are in a spreadsheet or another tool, you can bring them all in at once from a CSV file. You match your columns to DuetStudio's fields, check every student, and nothing is saved until you choose to import. It is on every plan, up to 500 students at a time.

Steps

1. In your spreadsheet, save or download it as a CSV. In Google Sheets or Excel: File, then Download, then CSV.
2. Open Students and choose Import students. During setup, the students step has Import from a spreadsheet instead.
3. Drop the CSV in, or choose the file.
4. Check which of your columns goes to which DuetStudio field, then choose Continue.
5. Look over the list. A row with a problem says what to fix in the file. A student who looks like one already in your studio is left out unless you tick Import anyway.
6. Choose the Import button, which shows how many students it will add.

Good to know

• Not sure how to lay the file out? The first screen has Download our template, with the columns already named.
• A student under 18 with a parent email is set up with the parent as the person invoices go to.
